Job summary

VIKING FABRATION SERVICES LLC in IL Carol Stream is seeking a Welder to produce high-quality welded pipe assemblies in a fast-paced fabrication environment. You will operate welding and fabrication equipment to weld outlets to pipe, perform rewelds, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards.

The role requires reading work orders and drawings, measuring materials, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace while supporting other fabrication activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or production environments preferred.
• Ability to complete company welding certification requirements.
• Experience operating welding and plasma equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, production orders, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated welding and plasma equipment to weld outlets onto pipe per specifications.
• Perform manual rewelds with handheld welding equipment as required to meet quality standards.
• Load, position, and unload pipe from welding equipment using proper material handling.
• Inspect welded assemblies for quality and compliance with standards.
• Apply required certification stamps to completed welds using designated tools.
• Transfer finished pipe to carts and staging areas for downstream processing or shipment.
• Read work orders and fabrication drawings to complete tasks accurately.
