Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant field experience.
• Strong practical welding and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and follow written/oral instructions.
• Proficient with electrical and hand tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds with precision.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes according to production standards, quality and safety rules.
• Make welding repairs and fix substandard welds.
• Assist with Pre-Fabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine and other industry tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and resources needed.
• Inspect workers' output for contract compliance and correct issues.
