Job summary

Mountain Man Welding and Fabrication, Inc. is seeking an experienced pipe welder for our field division across the Colorado Front Range.

This role requires single-hand pipe welding with SMAW and FCAW; TIG experience is a plus, and the ability to read weld symbols and drawings is essential. Candidates must be 21+, possess a clean driving record, and be willing to travel to job sites, work overtime, and maintain company trucks and equipment.

Qualifications

• Pipe welding experience required with SMAW/FCAW.
• TIG experience is a plus and may pay more.
• Ability to read weld drawings and symbols.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• 21+ years old with valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at jobsite on time with materials and equipment.
• Weld inside and outside pipelines; lap welds and pipe fabrication.
• Travel to Front Range Colorado job sites; overtime may be required.
• Maintain company-owned welding truck and equipment; ensure safety.
• Adhere to safety practices and work with customers/GCs as needed.

Mountain Man Welding and Fabrication is a leader in the skilled welding trades and we have select positions available for experienced Pipe Welders to work in our Field Division using our company welding trucks. – Mountain Man offers rewarding opportunities for you to apply your knowledge, contribute, and grow in a variety of career-building positions. We provide professional welding and fabrication services to leading Colorado industries such as water infrastructure/water pipelines, mining, utilities, water treatment and storage facilities, food processing industries, transportation infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways and vehicle bridges, and sports venues. You will work with a great team at locations all over the front range.

SKILLS:

• 3 years minimum experience welding pipe with SMAW, TIG experience is a plus and will pay more
• Must have good communication skills
• Able to work independently sometimes in remote locations
• Ability to ensure that you and co-workers are always practicing active safety
• Hardworking, Punctual, and Dependable
• Working knowledge of weld specifications and ability to read and interpret drawing and weld symbols
• Experience in downhill pipe, pipe and pipe fittings, and structural steel employing SMAW and FCAW welding techniques is required. TIG welding is a plus! Stainless and Aluminum Experience is a major plus!
• Must be able to work effectively with customers, GCs, and superintendents
• Willing to represent the Mountain Man brand proudly and effectively

Job Duties:

• Arrive at jobsite at scheduled time with all materials and equipment to perform the job
• Must be willing to work flexible schedule with overtime as required. Some shifts may involve night or early morning work. Times and work locations will vary frequently
• Responsible for care of company-owned welding truck and equipment. Each employee is responsible to ensure that maintenance and repair on their vehicle is performed in a timely manner. Company covers all fuel and maintenance of truck and welding machine
• Welding inside and outside of pipelines making lap welds
• Pipe fabrication, lay out, fitting, and weld out of pipe ranging from 2" to 42"
• Structural and misc. welding on bridges, heavy equipment, buildings, etc.
• Perform all welding and manual labor requirements of the position, including heavy lifting
• Ensure safe work practices are always followed
• Obtain additional welding certifications as needed

Requirements:

• Must have a great attitude and enjoy welding on a wide variety of projects
• Travel to jobsites throughout the Front Range of Colorado
• This position requires confined spaced entry on a regular basis
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings including THC and background check. Random drug testing is ongoing throughout employment.
• Eligible to work in the United States of America
• Must have clean driving record and current drivers license
• Must be versatile and flexible
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record
• Pipe test: 6g position using 6010 down-hill for the root and hot pass, 7018 uphill fill and cap.
• Plate test: 3g and 4g position using dual shield flux core wire
• Tig test (if applicable): 2" sch 40, 6G position
