Job summary

Design Solutions & Integration in Stanley, ND seeks a skilled Single Hand Welder proficient in SMAW, capable of passing a 6G welding test, and welding pipes in all positions.

You will read blueprints and welding symbols, ensure quality welds, and work safely in varied environments. Certifications in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW or FCAW are a plus.

This full-time position offers competitive pay ($38-$42/hour) with overtime opportunities. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00–3:30, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years welding experience, pipe welding preferred.
• Proficient in SMAW; 6G welding test required or able to pass.
• Able to read blueprints and welding symbols; follow procedures.
• Willing to certify or test for necessary welding certifications.
• Able to lift heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW welding on various materials, mainly carbon pipe in 6G position.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and drawings.

• Inspect and test welds to maintain quality control.
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely and effectively.
• Work in environments including cold weather, confined spaces or elevated positions.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Single Hand Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate must be proficient in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and capable of passing a 6G welding test. This position requires expertise in welding pipes in all positions and ensuring high-quality, structurally sound welds.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience (pipe welding preferred)
• Proficiency in welding techniques, including stick welding (SMAW). (TGAW would be a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Must have or be willing to test for necessary welding certifications as required
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions if required

Job Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW welding on various materials, primarily carbon pipe welding in the 6G position. Stainless Steel TGAW would be a plus.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company policies
• Inspect and test welds to maintain quality control
• Operate welding and cutting equipment safely and effectively
• Work in a variety of environments, including cold weather, confined spaces or elevated positions.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

Knowledge & Skill

• Previous experience in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing setting
• Additional certifications in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, or FCAW welding processes
• Knowledge of safety regulations and welding codes (e.g., AWS, ASME)

Pay

$38 - $42 an hour

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:30 with option for overtime
