Job summary

Marcus Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a travel-ready pipe welder to join our field teams on commercial and agricultural projects across multiple sites.

You will weld, fit piping, install valves and pumps, and participate in piping layouts to meet project goals within schedule and budget. The role requires reading blueprints, welding SMAW/GTAW/MIG, and knowledge of piping codes, with travel to construction sites and adherence to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Welding proficiency across SMAW, GTAW, and MIG.
  • Stainless steel welding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of piping codes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment on site.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools
  • Weld pipe sections to fabricate systems
  • Install valves, pumps, meters, supports, and related components.
  • Conduct pressure tests for leaks
  • Maintain, repair, or replace worn or damaged piping
  • Ensure support of piping systems
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Work in occasional confined spaces or harsh environments

This is traveling position.

The Position

The Pipe welder position welds, helps pipe fitter, and performs activities for piping layouts of designated commercial and/or agricultural construction projects to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Essential Duties
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools
  • Weld pipe sections to fabricate systems
  • Install valves, pumps, meters, supports, and related components.
  • Conduct pressure tests for leaks
  • Maintain, repair, or replace worn or damaged piping
  • Ensure support of piping systems
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards.

Required Skills

Employee must be able to communicate effectively in a typical work environment with a standard level of jobsite noise.

Work requires travel to construction sites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures. In addition, employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites. This includes climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, walking long distances, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
