Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing in Birmingham, AL seeks a skilled Pipe Welder to join its mechanical construction team. The ideal candidate will perform GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems, producing high-quality welds that meet project specs and applicable codes while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial pipe welding experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding processes.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials.
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures, fit-up, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to perform code-quality welds and pass required weld tests.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, healthcare, or manufacturing construction projects.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including welding hood, respirator (when required), gloves, and protective clothing.
