Job summary

HL Welding, Inc. seeks an experienced Pipe Welder for our Norfolk, Virginia location to perform high-quality welding on pipe, plating, fabricated components, and marine structural assemblies in a shipyard environment.

The Pipe Welder will use FCAW, SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and air carbon arc gouging to weld a variety of metals per blueprints and customer requirements. Strong 6G restricted-position experience is valued.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 3–5 years journeyman level pipe welder experience.
• Weld various surfaces, pipes, plating and fabricated components using multiple processes.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
• Perform FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW/TIG welding.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, fitting and preheating.

Responsibilities

• Weld pipe, plating, fabricated components in a shipyard environment.
• Follow blueprints, specifications, welding procedures and customer requirements.
• Utilize FCAW, SMAW, GTAW and air carbon arc gouging as needed.
• Work to produce high-quality welds across multiple positions and configurations.
