Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. seeks a skilled pipe welder to lay out, weld, install, test and repair pipe and tubular products per plans and codes in a heavy industrial shipyard.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of pipe welding experience, be able to read blueprints, and pass 6G pipe tests for ABS and OSHA standards. This on-site role requires safety awareness and the ability to work with others in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Requires reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders.
• Ability to read tape measures and perform measurements accurately.
• Must understand welding symbols, ship terminology, OSHA and ABS standards.

Responsibilities

• Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders prior to welding.
• Complete welds to required standards using SMAW, TIG or other methods.
• Install and verify operation of high-pressure pipes and fittings.
• Repair or replace damaged piping and fabricate metal fittings as needed.
• Test installed piping systems per plans and specifications.
• Pass 6G pipe tests (6” coupon) and maintain safety compliance.
• Work with minimal supervision and may train others.
