Position Summary

Responsible for completing each weld to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials.

Primary Responsibilities

• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal, welding techniques, and weld shrinkage.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts together using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.
• Use a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
• Additional responsibilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the industrial construction/maintenance industry.
• NCCER Certified (written or performance verified).

Physical Requirements

Selected candidates must be able to perform physical functions including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and other repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodation.
