We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Welder who specializes in SMAW (Stick Welding) to join our team near Charleston, SC. This role is ideal for an experienced welder with experience in structural and mechanical piping systems and is committed to safety and quality craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform Stick welding (SMAW) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials as required
2. Assemble and install mechanical piping systems according to specifications and drawings
3. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
4. Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality and code compliance
5. Collaborate with pipefitters and foremen to meet project schedules and safety protocols
6. Maintain and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
7. Follow all job site safety policies, including PPE requirements

Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of experience in mechanical welding, focusing on Stick welding
2. Proficient in SMAW techniques for structural and piping systems
3. Ability to pass weld tests (6G, groove, and fillet welds as required)
4. Experience with commercial or industrial mechanical systems
5. OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
