Position Summary
Are you a mechanical engineer who loves software and talking with other engineers? Bentley is looking for mechanical engineering professionals with pipestress experience for this Application Engineer position. You will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization delivering presentations to engineers showcasing AutoPIPE's product capabilities.
Location: Home-Based US
The Application Engineer utilizes their technical expertise to align with sales initiatives and advocate for customers within Bentley. This role ensures a comprehensive understanding of the customer's environment, challenges, and needs, reflected in the account sales strategy or campaign.
Your Day-to-Day
- Understand pipe stress design methodologies by industry and make product and solution recommendations.
- Stay connected to industry and develop thought leadership through joining a code committee.
- Stay updated on pipe stress industry trends and competitor offerings to give your presentations and content a competitive advantage.
- Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements.
- Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley’s pipe stress products to users.
- Develop and prepare datasets for user presentations and demonstrations.
- Develop content (i.e., videos) that can be delivered in one-to-one or one-to-many modes.
- Contribute to written proposal development and submission.
- Prepare, recommend scope of services, and deliver training for users.
- Work with product development teams to stay up to date with current releases of Bentley applications.
- Support sales opportunities and account planning, execute the Bentley Sales Process, and use Salesforce to document key activities.
- Foster a culture of “One Bentley” acting as the technical liaison between sales team, user services, and product development team.
- Travel to customer sites may be required.
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years as a pipe stress engineer.
- Functional knowledge of the ASME B31 series of codes.
- [Optional] Experience with ASME Section III and Euro piping codes.
- Familiarity with AutoPIPE software or other pipe stress software.
- [Optional] Understanding of the Nuclear Industry and familiarity with nuclear codes is an advantage.
- Outstanding speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority.
- Independent judgment, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effectively collaborate with diverse job functions. Leverage your communication and organizational skills to define objectives.
