Job summary

PURIS is seeking a Pipe Layer for civil underground wet utilities in Laredo, TX. This full-time role supports water, sewer and stormwater rehabilitation projects, locating, preparing sites and laying pipe.

You will operate and guide equipment, review permits, and ensure safety while meeting project timelines. Requires pipe laying experience, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and willingness to travel up to 90% as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Experience working in a physical labor position with outdoor construction is required.
• Pipe Laying experience for underground water utilities is required.
• Safety Certifications for Confined Space, Competent Person, 10 and/or 30 hour OSHA, and traffic control certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Work with supervisors and peers on water and sewer rehabilitation and repair projects.
• Direct equipment with alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Assist in initial setup and cleanup of job sites, including lifting, carrying, and pulling items up to 50–75 lbs.
• Review entry and work permits; assist in review of pre and post-installation videos.
• Enter manholes and confined spaces as needed.
• Perform job site setup and cleanup.
• Haul equipment and crew members by driving various vehicles.
• Submit work orders for vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed.
• Monitor for safety hazards and report issues to the supervisor.
• Other tasks as assigned.
