Knife River Corporation is seeking a Pipe Layer to join our field operations. The role involves aligning and laying pipes, trenching, and installing water and sewer systems on project sites.

Candidates should be able to read blueprints, handle welding/sealing tasks, and work in varying weather. A valid driver's license is preferred and safety is a top priority on every job.

Responsibilities

• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Dig trenches to desired depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Install and repair water, stormwater & sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes, following instructions or blueprints, and coordinate with supervisors.
• Maintain safety and prevent unsafe actions and behaviors.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

• Job requires steady to intermittent physical activity including standing, stooping kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, shoveling, and raking
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work flexible shifts
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
• Valid driver's license but a CDL is a bonus
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background
