Job summary

Yellowstone Local is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to join our Stratford, CT team on residential and light commercial HVAC projects. You will lay out, cut, bend, and install piping for hydronic, steam, gas, and refrigerant systems, ensuring codes and specifications are met.

Responsibilities include brazing, soldering, and press-fitting copper, steel, and PEX, installing boilers and pumps, and diagnosing leaks. You’ll read blueprints and work with customers to ensure quality results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus technical school or apprenticeship.
  • 3+ years of pipe fitting experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
  • Connecticut trade license (S1, S2, P1, or P2) preferred.
  • EPA Universal certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with brazing, soldering, threading, and press tools.
  • Working knowledge of hydronic, steam, gas, and refrigerant piping.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and pass physical requirements.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Pressure-test piping systems, troubleshoot leaks, and complete repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, piping diagrams, and mechanical plans.
  • Ensure installations meet local codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specs.
  • Maintain an organized work area, service vehicle, and professional appearance.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, HVAC installers, and service technicians about scope and progress.
  • Apply knowledge of HVAC piping and related systems in the field.

Your New Role
