Qualifications

• Ability to read ISO specs.
• Familiar with materials, specifications, and pipe fabrication methods.
• Previous fabrication experience and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Proficient in preparing time, cost and labor estimates from technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cost estimates for bids and projects to support pipe fabrication.
• Conducts pre-estimate meetings with project managers to plan bid strategy.
• Performs quantity take-offs, determines manpower, equipment, material and subcontractor needs.
• Obtains quotes for material suppliers, equipment and subcontractors.
• Analyzes blueprints and specifications to prepare estimates for products, projects or services.
• Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.
• Coordinates with contracts, legal, taxes, insurance and finance to finalize estimates.
• Specializes by service, product type, or phase of work as needed.
