Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure in Braddock, PA, is seeking a full-time Fab Shop Welder with Pipe Welding Experience to join our growing team. You will read blueprints, set up weldments, and weld components using stick and flux-core methods in various positions.

Candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma, be eligible to work in the United States, pass background and drug tests, and demonstrate strong math, measuring skills, and attention to quality. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Willing to undergo background check
• No disqualifying criminal convictions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Willing to undergo driving record checks
• Willing to submit to pre-hire drug and alcohol testing
• Strong communication skills
• Good attendance and punctuality
• Strong math and measuring skills
• Must pass welding tests for stick and flux core
• Eye for quality and attention to detail
• Self-motivated and eager to learn

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings; take or read measurements for layout.
• Determine welding equipment/method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding per specifications.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in various positions.
• Align components using jigs, clamps and measuring tools.
• Repair machinery or equipment by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Perform basic nondestructive exams, including visual tests.
• Use a variety of welding tools and power equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
• Erect/dismantle temporary scaffolding as needed.
• Inspect, set up and rig equipment on job sites as required.
