Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Excavator Operator with pipe laying and sewer/water experience in Madison, WI. The role supports pipe layers, operators, and the foreman by coordinating materials to install sanitary, watermain, and storm pipes and manholes, while maintaining jobsite safety and organized workflows.

The candidate should have 3+ years in Sewer and Water, a valid driver's license, and be able to operate loader and backfill excavator.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years experience in Sewer and Water.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• A Class A CDL is desired but not necessary prior to hire.
• Must be able to operate loader and backfill excavator.
• Be able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, weekends.
• Member of a Local Operators Union, or willingness to become a union member.
• Able to pass or has passed the Operators Union aptitude test when required.
• Ability to clean, maintain, and assist in repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate materials to install sanitary, watermain, and storm pipes and manholes.
• Support pipe layers, operators, and the foreman to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Maintain jobsite safety and cleanliness and ensure materials/workflow stay organized.
• Go between a loader and a backfill excavator as needed.
