Midwest. The Position: The Utility Pipe Layer is responsible for
installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water
mains, sewer lines, storm drains, and other piping systems. This role
involves working as part of a construction crew to prepare trenches, lay
pipe to grade, and ensure proper connections that meet safety and
project specifications. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. The pipelayer
will also assist with keeping machines and equipment maintained, assist
in clean-up of job site, and other duties assigned by the Foreman or
other management. Requirements: Valid driver\'s license and satisfactory
driving record. Class A CDL strongly desired. High School diploma or GED
equivalent is preferred. Must be punctual and dependable. Able to work
varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in
dirty and dusty environments. Member of a Local Laborer Union, or
willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is
not required prior to employment. 3-5 years road construction laborer
experience is preferred. Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and
installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer
pipe and manholes. Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and
