Job summary

Sea Dragon Energy seeks a Pilot Plant Operator-Technician to manage chemical process equipment at the Hawaii Ocean Science & Technology Park, Kailua-Kona. You will follow safety standards, operate process skids, monitor operations, collect samples, and perform basic maintenance.

The role includes rotating 12-hour shifts, with night shifts during operating campaigns. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years in a manufacturing or pilot plant setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years in manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environment.
• Proactive communication in alerting others to issues around the pilot plant.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment with chemical process equipment and wear required PPE.
• Operate chemical process skids, interact with valves, PLC screens, pumps, compressors, and reactors.
• Monitor skid operation, identify problems, and troubleshoot parameter deviations.
• Acquire samples from process skids and analyze them in the site lab.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendors for advanced work.
• Respond to spills with appropriate corrective action.
• Operate a forklift as required.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts during campaigns; night shifts may occur.
