Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor - Pilates to lead safe, engaging Pilates sessions for members and participants in a welcoming community.

You will design and implement effective lesson plans, emphasize safety, and maintain professional conduct with participants and staff.

Requirements include CPR/AED certification, a high school diploma, and a group exercise or personal training certification; prior related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification required or obtainable within 60 days.
• Certification in group exercise or personal training from a nationally recognized organization is required on date of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare for classes with student goals and abilities in mind; communicate effectively with participants.
• Ensure safety of all participants by following best practices.
• Arrive at least 10 minutes before class; paid for up to 20 minutes in addition to class time.
• Ensure participants are registered and forms completed.
• Provide exercise modifications for safety and success; cue and motivate participants.
• Inspect equipment and notify staff of any safety issues; secure qualified substitutes when needed.
• Set up and clean up facility and equipment after classes; follow YMCA policies and procedures.
