Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Pier Coordinator for the Production Management department. The role manages pier activities, materials handling, and coordination with trades, subcontractors, Navy, and suppliers to keep the pier organized and compliant.

You will monitor safety, labeling, waste disposal, and on-site attendance, with shift 0600–1445, Monday–Friday. Candidates should have forklift experience, DBIDS access, and a solid command of English; healthcare and benefits

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent with related production/controls experience.
• Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts; obtain DBIDS access.
• Understand shipboard safety requirements and NAVSEA standards.
• Fluent English in written and verbal communication; reliable transportation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage pier activities, materials handling, and lay-down coordination.
• Serve as point of contact for trades, subcontractors, Navy and suppliers.
• Maintain pier cleanliness, proper labeling, and HAZMAT handling.
• Ensure on-site attendance and safety compliance during shifts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and costs.
