Job summary

UW Health’s American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Registered Nurse Care Team Leader to guide a multidisciplinary team and deliver family-centered care in a state-of-the-art 21-bed pediatric unit.

You will provide care for critically ill or injured children with a wide range of conditions, including complex cardiac cases, and mentor staff while collaborating across departments. The role is 90% FTE with 8/12 evening/night shifts and weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
• 2 years experience in an inpatient unit required.
• 2 years leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two years in an inpatient unit.
• 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit preferred.
• RN license in WI or compact state required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• PALS within 180 days required.
• National certification in relevant specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children in a 21-bed unit.
• Care for patients with medical and surgical problems, including complex cardiac conditions, VADs, and heart transplant.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Analyze and resolve problems outside the nurse clinician domain with other departments.
• Mentor others to grow professionally and advance knowledge.
