Job summary

UW Health's American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI, is seeking a Registered Nurse Care Team Leader to oversee a multidisciplinary pediatric ICU unit. You will lead a 21-bed unit delivering family-centered care to critically ill children and their families, coordinating with the interprofessional team to manage complex medical and surgical cases including cardiac patients and ECMO.

You will mentor staff, promote nursing excellence, and collaborate across departments while supporting

Qualifications

• RN leadership and mentoring of nursing staff in a high-acuity pediatric setting.
• Experience in an inpatient unit is required; leadership experience may count toward inpatient experience.
• Pediatric ICU or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate nursing staff while collaborating with the interprofessional team.
• Provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in a 21-bed unit.
• Deliver comprehensive care for a wide range of medical and surgical conditions including cardiac issues and ECMO.
• Mentor colleagues to grow professionally and advance skills.
• Analyze and resolve problems beyond the nurse clinician domain and coordinate with other departments.
