Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital seeks an energetic acute care pediatric nurse practitioner to join the main campus 48-bed PICU. You will collaborate with the medical team to care for high-acuity patients from birth to 18 years and support two satellite units.

The role requires graduation from an acute care pediatric NP program. New graduates welcome; prior PICU RN experience preferred. Rotating shifts and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner program.
• New graduates welcome; PICURN experience preferred.
• Role involves rotating shifts in a busy PICU.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health histories and pediatric assessments for acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with residents, fellows, and attending physicians to manage a cohort of patients.
• Order and prescribe interventions to treat illness and improve health.
• Formulate family-centered care plans during rounds.
• Document and bill daily.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary services.
• Perform critical care procedures including intubations, central/arterial line placements, LPs, and chest tube management.
• Apply evidence-based practices and adapt plans to family needs.
• Educate patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Pursue professional development opportunities.
• Support the development of other team members.
• Uphold patient safety and shared accountability.
