Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the PICU daytime shift (37.5 hours) to support nurses in delivering compassionate, safe care for pediatric patients. The role involves assisting with routine patient care, monitoring, and ensuring a clean, safe unit environment while adhering to infection prevention standards.

You will participate in data collection for quality improvement, help with admissions/discharges, and support staff during emergencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
PCT program graduate with at least 6 months hospital experience or CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training.
BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.
Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and maintain patient comfort and safety.
Support unit operations, supplies, equipment, and environment.
Contribute to data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
Assist in reviewing patient/family satisfaction and action plans.
Communicate with the nurse manager about educational needs and goals.
Participate in orientation and unit meetings; complete annual mandatory education.
