Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Stead Family Children’s Hospital, is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk for the PICU on Saturday/Sunday nights (60% time). The role supports nursing care by handling clerical tasks, patient records, and patient/family communication in a fast-paced pediatric unit.

Responsibilities include census and scheduling support, charge processing, and coordination with health care staff. Strong communication and MS Word/Excel skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and experience in clerical tasks, health care setting preferred.
• Experience in customer service and proficiency with basic office software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and coordinate reception activities.
• Maintain accurate unit records and census information and assist with ADT entries.
• Assist with scheduling tests and appointments and help with charge processing.
• Support nursing staff and communicate effectively with health care team and families.
