The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk for the Stead Family Children's Hospital NICU. The role involves clerical, reception, and support tasks to assist nursing care providers and patients, including census updates, charge processing, and coordinating tests and appointments.

• Graduation from high school and any combination of clerical and health care experience totaling one or two years.

• Communicates with patients, visitors and health care professionals in a positive, cooperative manner.
• Maintains electronic communication systems and updates White Boards daily.
• Keeps census and hospital records accurate; enters ADT data and reconciles census.
• Processes patient charges timely and notifies staff of admissions and required forms.
• Assists in scheduling tests and appointments and follows infection control policies.
