Job summary

The East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville is seeking a PICU Professional Development Specialist to lead orientation and ongoing nursing education for the pediatric intensive care unit. You will plan curricula, assess staff competency, collaborate with unit leadership, and coordinate with the hospital education department to ensure evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.

This full-time day position requires RN licensure in Tennessee, a BSN, and pediatric nursing education

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN or related field preferred.
• RN licensed in Tennessee; BLS and PALS/NRP status required.
• BLS instructor within 1 year of hire; teaching credentials preferred.
• 3 years nursing experience with 1 year training/education-related role.

Responsibilities

• Develops annual outcomes-focused educational plan with leadership input.
• Implements plan using quality, project and systems management.
• Evaluates progress toward goals and maintains documentation.
• Coaches, mentors and supports preceptors and unit staff.
• Serves as liaison to hospital education, participates in committees.
