01 ETCH East Tennessee Children's Hospital Association, Inc. seeks an experienced nursing education specialist to plan, implement and evaluate orientation and education programs for NICU nursing units.

The role coordinates unit-specific educational initiatives and partners with the centralized education department on hospital-wide activities. Responsibilities include developing annual strategic plans, ensuring documentation, integrating research, and mentoring preceptors and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and RN license in Tennessee.
• BLS and PALS/NRP Provider status required; BLS instructor within 1 year.
• Minimum 3 years NICU nursing experience and 1 year documented training-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops annual outcomes-focused educational strategic plan with input from nursing leadership.
• Implements plan and activities using principles of quality, project and systems management.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals: professional, unit, department, according to organizational strategic plan.
• Assures all necessary education is available and documented.
• Integrates research and evidence-based findings into practice.
• Participates in preceptor educational programs and provides on-going support to preceptor.
• Coaches and develops unit staff as preceptors and mentors.
• Performs assessments, analyzes issues, trends, and supporting data related to educational needs and other pertinent situations.
