Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Nurse Clinical Manager for the PICU at the Burnet Campus. This role provides clinical leadership and oversight of day-to-day patient care operations, guiding nursing practice and patient outcomes.

You will supervise approximately 30–40 staff, coordinate night shifts, and ensure staffing coverage during four 10-hour shifts with weekend call rotation. The position emphasizes staff development and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Strong pediatric critical care background; PICU experience preferred.
• Demonstrated informal or emerging leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse, precepting, or project team participation).

Responsibilities

• Provide programmatic leadership of the clinical component and oversee day-to-day patient care operations.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling, address staffing challenges, and support night operations.
• Mentor and develop direct reports; ensure staff competence through training.
• Ensure quality and safety; maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead projects and improve workflows within the department.
