Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus in Houston seeks an Inpatient PICU Nurse to provide family-centered pediatric care in a fast-paced setting. You’ll assess, plan, educate, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate care, coordinating with the care team and ensuring accurate documentation in the medical record.

The role requires a nursing degree, TX RN licensure or compact, 9+ months of nursing experience, and BLS certification. Respiratory fit testing is required to join our safe workplace.

Qualifications

• RN license by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact.
• 9 months nursing experience (minimum).
• BSN program enrollment or BSN-equivalency agreement required.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (AHA).
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
• Preferred ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family and plan age-appropriate care.
• Analyze patient data and coordinate care.
• Document assessments and care plans in medical records.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences.
• Administer medications and treatments timely.
• Support patient/family education and learning needs.
• Contribute to unit performance improvement.
