Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program.
• Current Texas RN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification required.
• 9 months of professional nursing experience.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and strong communication.
• Time and resource management skills; ability to be flexible.
• Ability to operate unit-specific equipment and collaborate with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents comprehensive patient/family assessments across biophysical, psychosocial and developmental needs.
• Analyze situations, anticipate problems, and detect changes in patient status.
• Re-prioritize and update plans of care; communicate changes to the health care team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences; document accordingly.
• Assist patients and families in implementing their role in the care plan.
• Assess learning needs and readiness to learn for patients and families.
• Administer and document medications and treatments promptly.
• Show commitment to acquiring new knowledge and improving performance.
• Participate in unit-based performance improvement initiatives.
