Qualifications

  • BSN required and RN licensure in Texas or compact
  • BLS certification required by AHA
  • Leadership/specialty certification preferred (within 1 year)
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience
  • Pediatric critical care experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinical competency across physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
  • Monitor patient throughput to ensure safe, quality, efficient care.
  • Collaborate with care team to achieve outcomes and coordinate across the continuum.
  • Address HR issues; coach and develop nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
  • Monitor staffing and resources to meet patient care needs.
  • Support unit goals and communicate the organization’s strategic plan to staff.
  • Participate in unit quality initiatives to monitor nursing outcomes.
