Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Clinical Pharmacist II to provide comprehensive pharmacotherapy management for high-acuity pediatric patients. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the broader care team during daily rounds to optimize medication therapy and advance antimicrobial stewardship.

This full-time onsite role in Akron, OH includes a rotating 2/2/3 schedule (0700-1930). A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available; opportunities exist for professional growth and leadership in

Qualifications

• Education: PharmD or BS Pharm; licensure in Ohio.
• License requirement: Current Ohio State Board of Pharmacy license.
• Post-graduate training: PGY1 required; PGY2 preferred.
• Experience: ~3 years preferred; pediatrics experience helpful.
• Regulatory and safety: familiarity with regulatory standards and medication safety.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provide pharmacotherapy recommendations.
• Promote cost-effective medication use via formulary management and stewardship initiatives.
• Independently manage complex therapies (antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation, critical care).
• Initiate, modify, and monitor therapy under collaborative practice agreements or protocols.
• Educate and mentor pharmacists, residents, students, and clinicians.
