Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a part-time Pickleball Center Associate in New Jersey. You will greet members, verify memberships, and manage indoor court reservations and open-play rotations to ensure fair flow and timely transitions.

You will assist with check-ins, rosters, and league or tournament court assignments, communicate policies, and process registrations. CPR/AED certification is required or obtainable; clean, safe operations and a positive YMCA environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Business, Recreation, Sports Management, Education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of customer service, sales, recreation, hospitality, or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Pickleball rules, regulations, techniques, etiquette, and safety practices.
• CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certification required or obtainable within specified timeframe.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Pickleball Den.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests professionally and cordially as they enter and leave the Pickleball Center.
• Verify membership and manage facility access.
• Oversee indoor court reservations and open-play rotation for fair court flow.
• Assist with check-ins, rosters, and court assignments for leagues, clinics, and tournaments.
• Provide information on facility policies, safety guidelines, and programs.
• Handle payments and registrations according to YMCA policies.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and reconcile transactions.
• Maintain Welcome Center area and perform opening/closing procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and document incidents per YMCA procedures.
• Contribute to a positive environment reflecting YMCA values.
• Support member engagement and participation in YMCA programs.
