Job summary

Qualifications

• Current RN license issued by the state where services will be provided or a multi-state RN license via eNLC.
• VA-BC certification within two years of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• BARD PICC Training required at department level.
• Three years RN experience preferred in ICU or ED.
• Experience requirements specify one year minimum for RN.

Responsibilities

• Inserts PICC, Midlines, Access and tunneled Ports and PIV via ultrasound guidance with placement confirmed by ECG or x-ray.
• Monitor PICC lines, declotting, discontinuing catheters, dressing changes and assisting with procedures.
• Insert peripheral IVs throughout the hospital.
• Plan, evaluate and implement IV-related interventions.
• Provide IV therapy and PICC education to staff, patients, families, students and physicians.
• Participate in quality monitoring related to PICC insertions and ultrasound-guided IVs.
• Perform other nursing duties (assessment, sedation, recovery, education) as needed.
• May provide staff education on PICC and Midlines.
