Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Piano Instructor to develop lesson plans and teach beginner piano classes for children at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Phoenix. Classes run Mondays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, focusing on foundational skills, rhythm, and basic music theory.

The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and capable of engaging young musicians in a fun, educational environment while upholding the Salvation Army policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 2 years of prior teaching or related experience preferred.
• Certification or degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct beginners through advanced learners in piano.
• Develop lesson plans and teach Monday 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
• Create, teach, implement and demonstrate planned practices and performances.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and report safety issues.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding scheduling and class changes.
• Provide a fun, engaging and educational experience for children.
