Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center - Phoenix is seeking a Drum Instructor to teach children aged 6-12, developing lesson plans and guiding rhythm, coordination, and technique. Classes meet Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM.

Ideal candidates show patience, musical talent, and creativity within a supportive learning environment. Candidates should be at least 18, with 2+ years of related teaching experience and a related degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• At least 2 years prior teaching or instructional experience preferred.
• Certification or degree in a related field preferred.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate instructional skills.
• Must read/write/communicate in English; bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct music with sound principles for the specified area.
• Teach from beginner to advanced levels in drums.
• Develop individual development guidelines and class outlines.
• Create, teach, and demonstrate planned practices and performances.
• Maintain a safe learning environment and report issues to supervisors.
