Job summary

The Salvation Army in Missouri is seeking a part-time music program instructor to work with children and adults in corps and community settings. You will teach theory, performance skills, and values while planning weekly lessons and supporting the corps’ music activities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Experience: Minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults. Performance experience preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses: None

Responsibilities

• Lead music and other arts programs as assigned.
• Plan and implement weekly music lessons and the curriculum.
• Attend corps recitals and prepare corps music programs for end-of-year concert.
• Encourage participants toward goals and self-esteem through musical development.
• Support community awareness of the Corps’ mission through performances.
• Encourage participation in summer camps and music camps.
• All other duties as assigned.
