Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive case management support for a busy PI practice in Charlotte, NC. The role requires organizing case files, drafting pleadings, and managing deadlines with precise attention to detail.

Responsibilities include coordinating discovery, depositions, and trial prep, while communicating with clients, medical providers, insurers, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or equivalent litigation paralegal experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of personal injury or civil litigation paralegal experience.
• Trial prep and trial experience.
• Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of court rules and e-filing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage case files throughout the litigation process.
• Draft, file, and serve pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents.
• Request and organize medical records, bills, police reports, and other case-related documentation.
• Prepare demand packages and assist with pre-litigation settlement negotiations.
• Calendar and track statutes of limitations, court deadlines, and discovery due dates.
• Coordinate depositions, mediations, and trial preparation, including exhibit and witness organization.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.
• Conduct legal research and cite-check pleadings and briefs as needed.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including trial notebooks and witness/exhibit lists.
• Maintain compliance with e-filing procedures in state and federal courts.
