Cell Staff partners with the Alaska Department of Corrections to place a Physician Assistant at Goose Creek Correctional Center in Wasilla, Alaska. The clinician will own a patient population with a strong primary or acute care background in a full 7-day block.

The role offers a 13-week contract with start date Jan 1, 2027, day shift, and a schedule that includes a 7 on/7 off pattern at Alaska's largest correctional facility. Will work in a multidisciplinary team within a high-security setting.

Qualifications

• Active Alaska PA license (or actively pursuing).
• DEA license required.
• Minimum 2 years PA experience in ER, family practice or primary care.
• Broad clinical competency for acute and primary care.
• Corrections or institutional healthcare experience a plus.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Must clear State of Alaska background check.
• Covid vaccine not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to a large, complex correctional population.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions across Alaska's largest maximum-security facility.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, RNs and mental health staff.
• Conduct sick calls, chronic care visits and urgent/emergency evaluations.

Are you an experienced Physician Assistant looking for a high-impact clinical role in Alaska? Cell Staff has partnered with the Alaska Department of Corrections to place a PA at Goose Creek Correctional Center in Wasilla — Alaska's largest correctional facility. We're looking for a skilled, autonomous clinician with a strong primary or acute care background and the confidence to own a patient population during a full 7-day block.

Position Details

• 7 days on, 7 days off — 77 hours per working week
• Specific schedule dates vary and can potentially be adjusted
• Day shift (exact hours confirmed at interview)
• 13-week contract with option to extend
• Start date: January 1, 2027
• Location: Wasilla, Alaska (Mat-Su Valley)

Duties

• Provide comprehensive medical care to a large, complex correctional population

Compensation

Local Package

• Pay rate: $88.00/hr
• Estimated weekly gross (40 hrs): $3,872.00

Stipend (Travel) Package

• Pay rate: $43.00/hr + OT at $64.50/hr
• Weekly meals: $600 | Weekly lodging: $1,600
• Estimated weekly gross (40 hrs): $4,092.00

Qualifications
