The Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, part of the Alaska Department of Corrections, seeks a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse 1 to deliver medical care to inmates in a secure facility. The role offers autonomy with nursing support around the clock and collaboration with external physicians as needed.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in Alaska; DEA registration and ongoing compliance with medical boards are expected.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or APRN in Alaska.
• Background checks and licensure proof may be required prior to final appointment.
• DEA registration and Alaska PDMP may be required to prescribe controlled substances.

Responsabilités

• Care for emergent, urgent and chronic care needs of inmates.
• Serve as liaison between the facility, local physicians and hospitals.
• Prescribe Schedule II-V drugs in accordance with Alaska licensing and boards.
