Job summary

Cell Staff is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive medical care at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska. The role is 40 hours per week, Tue–Fri, with a 13-week contract and a January 1, 2027 start date.

You will manage complex conditions in a maximum-security setting, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and perform sick calls, chronic care visits, and urgent evaluations. The position requires Alaska licensure, DEA, and strong clinical competency.

Qualifications

• Active Alaska PA license (or actively pursuing).
• DEA license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PA experience; ER, Family Practice, or Primary Care background strongly preferred.
• Broad clinical competency required.
• Corrections or institutional healthcare experience a plus.
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred.
• Must be able to clear a State of Alaska background check.
• Covid vaccine not required.

• Manage acute and chronic conditions in a maximum-security facility.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, RNs, and mental health staff.

Are you an experienced Physician Assistant looking for a high-impact clinical role in one of Alaska's most stunning locations? Cell Staff has partnered with the Alaska Department of Corrections to place a PA at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska — Alaska's only maximum-security correctional facility. We're looking for a skilled, autonomous clinician with a strong primary or acute care background ready to make a real difference.

Position Details

• Tuesday through Friday, 40 hours per week (exact shift times confirmed at interview)
• 3-day weekend every week
• Day shift
• 13-week contract with option to extend
• Start date: January 1, 2027
• Location: Seward, Alaska

Compensation

Local Package

• Estimated weekly gross (40 hrs): $3,872.00
