As a Physician Recruiter, you will play a critical role in identifying, attracting, and placing highly qualified physicians with hospitals, health systems, physician groups, and healthcare organizations nationwide.
You will partner closely with healthcare executives, medical directors, and physician leaders to understand workforce needs and deliver exceptional physician talent that supports quality patient care and organizational growth. Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of physician recruiting, healthcare recruiting, healthcare sales, provider relations, or healthcare operations experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment preferred.
Physician Recruiter Required Qualifications
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with physicians, healthcare executives, and clinical leadership teams.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive candidate and client information.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong sense of urgency, persistence, and results orientation balanced with professionalism and consultative communication.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), CRM platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, physician databases, and healthcare recruiting resources.
- Knowledge of physician credentialing, licensing, privileging, and healthcare compliance processes preferred.
- Ability to pass Hunter’s post‑offer employment requirements, including background check and drug screen.
Physician Recruiter Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Source, recruit, and place physicians across a variety of specialties for direct hire, permanent placement, and retained search engagements.
- Utilize advanced sourcing techniques, Boolean search strategies, physician databases, professional associations, healthcare conferences, and networking channels to identify active and passive physician candidates.
- Develop and maintain robust physician talent pipelines across multiple specialties and geographic markets.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings to assess clinical background, career objectives, compensation expectations, geographic preferences, and cultural fit.
- Educate candidates on practice opportunities, organizational culture, compensation models, benefits, call expectations, and community information.
- Manage the physician candidate experience from initial outreach through contract execution, credentialing, onboarding, and successful start.
- Coordinate interviews, site visits, travel arrangements, and follow‑up communications.
- Provide interview preparation, market insights, compensation guidance, and ongoing support throughout the recruitment process.
- Provide timely updates regarding search progress, candidate pipelines, market conditions, and placement activity.
- Maintain accurate and detailed candidate records within the ATS and CRM systems, including communication logs, resumes, licensing information, and credentialing documentation.
- Meet or exceed performance goals related to physician placements, gross profit targets, activity metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
