Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX, seeks a physician specializing in pediatric hematology-oncology to lead thrombosis care for children and adolescents at Dell Children's Medical Center. You will shape protocols and collaborate with cardiology, surgery, and critical care to optimize anticoagulation and patient safety.

You will mentor trainees at Dell Medical School and engage in research to advance benign hematology and long-term outcomes while joining a national network with a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead specialized clinical care for children and adolescents facing complex thrombosis, thrombophilia, and benign hematologic conditions.
• Shape institutional protocols and quality improvement initiatives in pediatric thrombosis management.
• Champion multidisciplinary collaboration with cardiology, surgery, and critical care teams to optimize anticoagulation stewardship.
• Mentor medical trainees and students at Dell Medical School.
• Drive clinical innovation by participating in or leading research initiatives that advance benign hematology and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with Pediatric Hematology-Oncology physicians.
