Job summary

Ascension Seton in Austin, TX seeks a Non-Invasive Cardiologist for outpatient clinic care. You’ll join a team supporting Dell Medical School rounding at two hospitals, with call of 1 in 5 and a full EMR footprint (Athena OP, Cerner IP).

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, coordinating discharge planning, and participating in academic activities. Licensure in TX and MD/DO are required; strong communication and team collaboration are essential.

Ascension Seton is looking for a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our incredible team of cardiologists caring for our community.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Seton to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights

• Outpatient clinic general cardiology
• Call responsibility and support for the Dell Medical School rounding team at 2 hospitals.
• Position will provide additional general cardiology support for 2 interventional cardiologists, allowing them more time for interventions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
