Job summary

Overview

About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) is the United States Army's premier medical institution. Located on Fort Sam Houston, BAMC is a 425-bed academic medical center, and is the Department of Defense's largest facility and only Level 1 trauma center. BAMC is also home to the Center for the Intrepid, an outpatient rehabilitation facility. The center is composed of ten separate organizations, including community medical clinics, centered around the Army's largest in-patient hospital. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience may include paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts may be required as part of the application.

Basic Requirement For Physician (Pathology)

Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. The degree must be accredited by the appropriate medical education bodies. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must demonstrate equivalency to U.S. accredited schools, as evidenced by ECFMG certification or equivalent credentials.

Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state or territory.

Graduate Training: After earning the medical degree, at least one year of supervised direct clinical service experience ( internship or the first year of residency) in an accredited setting.

Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty.
