Job summary

Job description

Overview

This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) is the United States Army's premier medical institution located on Fort Sam Houston. BAMC is a 425‑bed academic medical center, the Department of Defense's largest facility, and the only Level 1 trauma center. It also hosts the Center for the Intrepid, an outpatient rehabilitation facility. BAMC is staffed by more than 8,000 individuals providing care to wounded service members and the San Antonio community.

Basic requirements:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution. A foreign medical degree must meet equivalency requirements, including certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
  • Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory license.
  • Graduate training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience (e.g., internship or residency).

In addition to the basic requirement, applicants must have successfully completed accredited residency training in the required specialty.
