Job summary

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an OB/GYN physician to join a collaborative, team-based medical team delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to the American Indian community. The role includes prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and preventive women’s health services.

Applicants must have MD/DO, OB/GYN residency, Oklahoma license, board status, CPR, and ACLS preferred; Indian Preference applies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited college or university.
• Must have documentation of completion of residency in OB/GYN from an accredited residency program.
• Must hold an unrestricted professional license in the State of Oklahoma; Board-certified or Board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Current CPR is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for women’s health needs.
• Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats conditions related to the female reproductive system.
• Provides routine gynecologic services, including annual wellness exams, Pap smears, contraception management, STI screening and treatment, and preventive health counseling.
• Provides comprehensive prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients, including high-risk pregnancies.
• Monitors and manages labor and delivery at designated or contracted hospital facilities, including performing deliveries and surgical procedures.
• Prescribes medications, therapies, and treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based medical practice.
• Maintains timely, accurate medical documentation within the EMR system.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, hospital personnel, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.

Education

OKCIC is seeking a compassionate OB/GYN Physician to join our growing medical team. This role provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and preventive women’s health services.

Physicians will work within a collaborative, team-based environment alongside a multidisciplinary care team dedicated to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care to the American Indian community.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for women’s health needs.


• Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats conditions related to the female reproductive system, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infections, endometriosis, infertility concerns, menopause, and other gynecologic conditions.


• Provides routine gynecologic services, including annual wellness exams, Pap smears, contraception management, STI screening and treatment, and preventive health counseling.


• Provides comprehensive prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients, including management of high-risk pregnancies and medical conditions complicating pregnancy within the scope of training.


• Monitors and manages labor and delivery at designated or contracted hospital facilities, including performing deliveries and surgical procedures consistent with approved privileges and competencies.


• Performs physical examinations and preventive health assessments; orders and interprets laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies to support diagnosis and treatment planning.


• Prescribes medications, therapies, and treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based medical practice.


• Provides patient education and counseling regarding pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, family planning, reproductive health, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices.


• Refers patients to specialists and coordinates continuity of care when clinically indicated.


• Responds to obstetrical and gynecological emergencies and participates in call coverage as assigned.


• Maintains timely, accurate, and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record system.


• Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient information in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.


• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, hospital personnel, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and positive outcomes.


• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, continuing education, and professional development programs.


• Assists organizational leadership in developing and implementing programs that support the healthcare needs of the patient population and community served.


• Maintains current licensure, certifications, DEA registration, hospital privileges, and credentialing requirements necessary to perform assigned duties.


• Complies with all applicable federal, state, tribal, accreditation, and organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position.
