Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a physician to evaluate patients, obtain pertinent information for diagnoses and treatments, and coordinate testing and referrals as needed. The role includes EMR documentation, fostering staff development, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

The position requires completion of an IM or FM residency and current Oklahoma medical licensure with DEA/OBNDD or equivalent certifications, with privileges for the applicable specialty.

Qualifications

  • Allopathic (MD) or Osteopathic (DO) physician with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Completion of an IM or FM residency program.

  • Evaluates patient and obtains pertinent information for the diagnosis and treatment of the medical problem.
  • Orders further testing and refers to other medical providers as necessary for the appropriate medical management of the patient.
  • Documents appropriately in the EMR and completes all necessary forms and correspondence for proper patient care in a timely manner.
  • Fosters the development of staff to fulfill the current and future requirements of individuals and the organization.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients and staff.

  • Must have formal NRHS Medical Staff privileges for specialty/area worked; includes age‑specific competency
